Eco Schools Programme

Eco-Schools Programme

Eco-schools is an International programme which provides support and materials for schools wishing to make environmental improvements and implement good practice in ESDGC issues. The programme is modelled upon the international standard ISO 14001 and provides a highly structured package, involving audit and monitoring. A key principle is that pupils play the lead role in decision making and participation in sustainable action.

Schools which complete all seven stages of the process are able to apply for the prestigious Inetrnational Green Flag award, a well recognised eco-label and sister flag to the Blue Flag for beaches and marinas.

Eco-schools is inclusive and works through partnership with other environmental and educational organisations to provide a network of support and expertise.
